Covering sets by translates and a question of Bukh

Abstract:

The basic question we will investigate is how to efficiently cover a set (living in some group) by translates of another set. We will present some structural results for this question, which lead to an affirmative answer to a question of Boris Bukh on dilate sums. Joint work with Brandon Hanson.
