Abstract:
Let X1,..., Xn-1 be independent vectors in Rn, and X be a unit vector orthogonal to these vectors. It is clear that if the entries of Xi are iid standard Gaussian then X is uniformly distributed on the unit sphere. In this talk we show that this property remains asymptotically true for X even when the entries of Xi have Bernoulli distributions. (partly joint with V. Vu)
Before the talk, at 3:10pm, there will be tea and cookies in Wean 6220.
